- DAVIS DIFtrol 23 and DIFtrol 24A temperature controllers have one temperature and one light sensor. Both sensors may be easily mounted 100 feet from the DIFtrols.
- The DIFtrols use a very sensitive light sensor to detect the graying of sky at sunrise and then count 23.5 hours to declare that to be sunrise for the next day. Then, the DIFtrollers will switch to the SUNRISE (DIF) Setpoint temperature before the plants first perceive light, as required for effective control of plant height. Two hours after sunrise, the DIFtrollers switch from SUNRISE Setpoint to DAY Setpoint temperature. At sunset, the DIFtrollers will switch to NIGHT Setpoint temperature.
- The precise temperature sensors and DIFtrol circuits make temperature readings accurate to 1/2 degF over the range from 52 to 100 degF. Other temperature readings down to 29 F and up to 115 F are accurate to about 1 degF.
- The Setpoints for the DAY and NIGHT can be set in 1 degF increments from 29F to 115F. The DIF temperature change for SUNRISE can be set from 0 to plus or minus 30 degrees with respect to the NIGHT Setpoint. For hot-water heating systems, the DIF-Before-Sunrise may be moved in 15 minute increments from the 23.5 hours mentioned above, to 21.75 hours.
- The temperature steps between stages can be set independently in one degree increments from 1 to 15 degrees. For example, the first stage of heat may be set to activate on temperature-fall of 4 degrees below Setpoint, and the second stage may be set to activate on another 3 degrees of temperature-fall.
- Time-delays of 1 to 15 minutes may be set between changes of the outputs of the DIFtrollers to prevent rapid cycling.
- Exhaust-at-Sunset is another feature of the DIFtrollers will dehumidify the greenhouse before nightfall.
The DIFtrollers operate from 120VAC. The Davis DIFtrollers deliver 24VAC at a maximum current of 1.5 amps to switch equipment. If the electrical system operates at 50 hertz, rather than 60 hertz, then please so note on your order. Also, please specify voltage.
